Counselling
Happiness is possible because it’s natural and therefore an already established part of our nature. At any given moment, contentment and emotional freedom can be found, even in those times when it seems lost. It’s just a matter of learning how to make this a reality. This where receiving counselling with me, which includes the evidence-based techniques of EFT or ‘Tapping’, comes into play…
How does counselling with Christine make a difference?
Counselling is the way I work together with you, the client, incorporating techniques that rely on verbal and emotional communication, to achieve your desired outcomes. In addition to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), I help you learn the tools of Emotional Freedom Techniqes (EFT) or ‘Tapping’. I also offer the tools of mindfulness to further assist you to build a strong and healthy emotional pattern of responses.
My role as your counsellor is to listen fully, be empathetic and authentic, and provide open and intelligent communication. It is not my role to give you advice. Counsellors are not trained to give advice but rather to assist the client in discovering and solving underlying issues. Because communication is the vehicle of healing at my clinic, a collaborative relationship between me as your counsellor and you as my client is essential and happens quite naturally as we proceed.
As your counsellor, I support you as you experience for yourself the transformative effects of the newly learned skills and techniques which can become a part of your life. My counselling support lasts as long or as short as you want it to, which usually means until you are working confidently with these skills and techniques and observing a noticeable difference in your life. These skills are easily transferrable and you will have them for life.
I provide an uplifting, warm, supportive environment enabling you to just openly be; to be fully heard, with empathy and understanding, and without judgement. I also practice daily, the techniques and skills that you learn during our sessions and therefore come from a place of direct understanding and lived experience.
